Hello and welcome to The Counseling Geek – a blog for school counselors, academic advisors, program coordinators, and/or other employees of the educational system. This blog is for those who love utilizing technology to its fullest, would like to learn more about how to use technology in a very person-focused field, and for someone who has never used a computer for more than browsing the internet and sending email. I promise as I develop this blog that I will include snippets for every level of professional — from techno-head to n00b (or a person new to the idea…if you didn’t know what this meant, you may be one).

As you are checking out the blog entries, please feel free to explore my professional portfolio. In future blog posts, I will be explaining how to build a site like mine, utilize other tools like podcasting, powerpoint tips, and creating screencasts of presentations/webcam sessions. If there are every any questions or requests for tips, please shoot me an email or comment. Until next time…

*Note* – I will be utilizing both text and video blog posts to show some utilization of some of the technology I will be showcasing. The videos will be hosted via youtube and are available on my youtube channel “TheCounselingGeek”.

The blog author, Jeffrey Ream M.S, PPS, writes for The Counseling Geek. Connect with Jeff via email, Twitter, Google+, and Facebook.
